Default Too much lift and gone too stiff

I purchased a set of keys that were SUPPOSED to lift the front of the truck 1" to 3" max and installed them yesterday... however...

Before I did anything, I measured from the bottom of the rim to the fender and got a measurement of 31.5" on the driverside, 32" passenger. I cranked the bars all the way up and remeasured and got 33" driverside, 33.5" passenger.

I am guessing the driverside is either worn out/heavier OR its supposed to be that way. Not sure.

Anyway, I installed the new keys (hoping for just an inch and the same soft ride) and remeasured with the keys "all the way OUT" and got 35" driverside, 35" passenger side. I barely have the keys off the bars that hold the bolts to try and get the truck as low as possible on the keys, and its pretty much bottomed out on suspension travel. When I place a jack under it now in the front, I jack it up exactly 1" inch and the wheels are off the ground. Obviously now it rides like **** (extremely stiff) and my cv joints and upper control arm angles are outrageous.

Did I get sent the wrong keys? Im pretty sure a 1" lift doesn't bring you 4" from stock???

Also- if I do keep these keys, ( I have a 2500HD 4x4) does anyone make a softer bar that I can swap in place to lower the truck down some and get my cadillac floater suspension back? Ideally, I would like to be around 33" but without cranking the keys to max on the stock ones, or have the "lift keys" but with softer bars and be right at 33" (1.5" higher than stock)

I wonder if because its a 2500 and you got the 1500 keys? I say that because the 2500 keys lower the 1500 trucks so its safe to assume the 1500s must raise it. If you got 1500 keys good for 1-3 inches I'm sure you might see a lot more lift.

This is just an idea..I haven't a clue if it's what it is. If I am wrong then someone will correct me.

That would make alot of sense... now you got me curious. Im off to O'reilly's with my stock 2500 keys to compare to a set of MOOG 1500 and 2500 keys. I only wanted ONE more inch I swear!!!

You said you got the desired amount of lift by cranking the stock keys correct? Then why put different keys in?

Wanted to have the same 33" clearance with screws turned all the way OUT so that when I head to offroad parks on the weekends, I can get there, crank the **** out of the bars for more clearance (lets face it, these ******* are low and I hate it) then when im done playing in the mud, I hit the carwash and lower it back down. I have marks on my bolts so that I can count the rotations so as not to get an alignment everytime I raise/lower the truck, so long as I hit the same spot when lowered. That was the point of me getting just a 1" higher lift, not a 5" lift.

Looking at the suspension, I can now see that the upper control arm is what is bottoming out. Does anyone make an extended control arm or a spindle that raises the upper ball joint mount to account for that? Im probably going about this entirely wrong.

For now, I (just) put the stock keys back in it and went back to my usual 8 turns from full extension to get back to "stock" height.

Like mentioned you may have gotten 1500 lift keys.

You can put stock 1500 keys in yours to lift it a couple inches.
