torque converter
Hey guys,
I have a 4.8L 2001 Silverado and I am planning on putting a torque converter on it next. My first two mods were the volant ram air system and pacesetter longtubes, cut cats, and dual super 40 flowmasters. However, I am not sure what to get in terms of a torque converter and I was wondering if any of you had suggestions?? What brand/type/ specs??? The truck is a daily driver yet it goes to the strip quite a bit. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks!

if you don't plan on putting a cam, i'd go with a trailblazer stall(2600) for daily driving.
if you like to run down the strip alot like you said or want to put in a cam down the road, i'd go with the tci sf3000. to me it's the best bang for the buck torque converter. or check out fuddle converters over on ls1tech. i've been hearing good things about them from the guys on here.

I bought one for my D/D 4x4. I hope it works good. I drove a buddies Formula with another bud's motor (LQ4 6.0) with a TCI 3000, and I liked it. Thats why I got one for myself

I had the TCI 3000 now I have a Fuddle 3400. IMO the TCI converter is too weak for a truck I pounded the **** out of it and it gave in after only 6 months. I think the Fuddle is going ot be a much stronger converter and it is only about 50 bucks more the clutch in the TCI has like 18 square inches of clutch material and my Fuddle has 40 square inches so I can tow and IMO is just a better converter all together. I havent had it in long enough to play with it hard yet but I will let everyone know how well it does. Even though it is a 3400 it still drives better than the 3000 TCI. I would go with a fuddle but thats just my informed personal opinion.
