Default Torque converter.......

I am pretty convinced to come up with the money for the circle d hp series 3000 stall 278mm, and then i find fti's website....,, which is better and what are the pros and cns of each????

Well... They are both a reworked factory converter. There is hardly any proprietary parts in them. I'm hard pressed to tell you one is night and day better than the other. That being said they have their place and I wouldn't put one behind anything making 500HP as my first choice.

So.... Knowing whAt my setup is and cam weve discussed what woukd you recommend?? Im sure youve seen my trans thread.... Kinda anxious to get trans done and in, so i can get on to the cam!!

You'll be fine with the FTI unless you want to add boost down the line. worst case you can upgrade the converter later.

Look at the 3200 option.

Id really like to know how much drivetrain loss i have, i know my dyno run was skewed by lack of headers and the f'd up converter that was in the truck, she feels a helluva lot better just with changing out the converter for the tb converter i picked up cheap, as a temp fix... And i know dyno is a tuning tool, but everyother dyno graph ive seen has been smooth mine looks like the needle was held by someone shivering....

Not planning on boosting the truck..... May change at some point down the road but cant see being able to come up with the coin for a sc setup

Frack buying over the counter sheet. Get what you need/want.

Kinda route i was thinking of going but fti is about $100 less as far as i can tell apples to apples.... Gonna do some more research, hence reason i was asking for input...

They wont build a 278mm to spec. They will recommend a given converter based on your mods.

I have an FTI 3000 in my DD. Its a 2008 saab 97x with a L96 (iron block 6.0 with L92 heads from 2010+ HD trucks) and an LS6 cam. It works great.
