does circle d have a triple disk 9" converter that has towing capability? i thought all 9" converters were too small for towing

i want to go from 3.73s to 4.30s because 99% of my "playing" is at the track so the extra gear to get 5200lbs off the line would definitely be nice. im not extremely worried about gas mileage since i only have a 9 mile drive to work and dont drive too much anymore since all of my family has moved away
if thats the case jump to 4:56 and call it a day gears are your friend, if gas is not a option like myself then go for it.. i just ran last night on my 4:88s and damn didnt really think it would be a big difference from 4:56 to 4:88 damn was i wrong to bad you tow, then you could get nice converter.I mean you still can but you know, i would at lease talk to chris and see what options you may have with towing and wanting some track time.. i'm sure theres a converter that will meet your needs..

thanks for the info MP really didnt know or know why..!!! hmmm lol i still dont

It has to do with the geometry of the fins and the stator, and how far they can be pitched for greater stall speed. In an 11" converter the fins are longer and can only be given so much pitch before the converter starts to become to inefficient (I think), and are consequently to long to get any more then 3600 out of I guess. I've just always been told that smaller diameter equals greater ability to stall. The reason that the TT is limited so much is that is is built on a cheaper cover and I think (just guessing here) that Dave feels the strength of the over all converter would be compromised by allowing to much stall. The TT are quite a bit cheaper then the PT or SST and I don't think they have the billet cover.. Again these are my theories cause he doesn't let out to many trade secrets, but I have talked to I'm in length during the purchase of my last two converters.

But totally agree on the 4.56, LOVE MINE! Plus they are not on national backorder like the 4.30's...
