I pretty much abused a stock 4l65E with 30 dyno pulls and at least as many 1/4 mile runs. This was pushing 450HP+ to the wheels with increased line pressure and a 3000 converter. I now have an FLT level5 with a Yank 2600TT and love it. I am confident that I am putting down 500/550 to the wheels through it. I did 485/533 at the dyno with the converter unlocked and the truck very hot.

$300 for a TB converter is kind of steep. try calliing DACCO for their reman TB converters. mine was only $164 shipped inlcuding the core. i think they have gone up since then, but $300 wow.

I ran the 100 shot when I had my stock 4l60e for about a year with line pressure turned up and no cooler and it never blew and was running fine when I swapped to the built one by Mad Dog Transmissions. The Mad Dog only lasted 6 months on the same setup before breaking a band and then went completely out 2 months later just after my lq9 swap so it is pretty much a crap shoot. I have my FLT 5 and love it!

I had a stock 4L60E with only billet servos, and it lasted for 85,000 miles.Couple of Dyno pulls 40 to 50 drag strip runs and lots of hard driving before it started slipping.
I just started putting in a built 4L60E today that should last even longer I hope..

How do you know when your clutch is slipping? Do you lose torque?
