Default Torque multiplication converters?

i found this PATC converter that says it can be ordered with a 2 to 1, 2.5 to 1, or 3 to 1 torque multiplication rate. says that it can add up to 50 rwtq, do you lose top end? How do these kind of converters compare to say to just a plain ol circle d 278mm or yank TT3200? it's the patc mr-2l converter. $800 or buy one get one half off. never heard of it before and was wondering how much of a difference it makes.
