Default torsion bar coil over swap

anyone ever seen anything like this on a stock/lowered suspension setup? it would be nice to get rid of the torsion bars/keys and torsion bar crossmember for some weight loss with the adjustability of coil overs. not to mention for drag/autocross setups. not sure how much room there is but a tubular control arm would be nice to go with it. i know djm has control arms for lowered setups , i could go that route and modify but id prefer hollow instead of solid . the o.d. of the springs would also have to be able to clear the uca and half shaft.

I did some research on that a long time ago but decided it would cost me way too much. If i recall, Parish did it to the blue truck before he sold it.

yes he did but he also ditched the 4wd to I believe. I would not think it would be to bad the new trucks went back to coil springs.

Wouldn't be to hard. You could probably fit a 2.5" coilover up there. I should have ran coilovers from the beginning but didn't because I wanted to keep the stock coil bucket if I went back to stock. I've been thinking about doing coilovers again lately though. Best thing is to get the OD of a 2.5" coilover spring and start measuring.

They make longer coilover mount ends that would probably need to be run to clear the half shaft. I actually had a pair of King mount ends in my truck I keep forgetiting to take out I could have shown you yesterday.

how much does a set of those run ? not sure what id do on mount location since making a new one may be tough on the stock arm .

Subscribed.....what would be an ideal spring rate and height for a 2.5 coilover? I would be interested in some 2WD front coilovers because i'm tired of replacing spring isolators and dealing with the "chevy lean".

From researching OEM coil/shock setups, it seems the Toyota Tundra has some beefy front units

are you looking like pre runner style? for off road? there are some nice 4x4 kits but your right they are $$$ . enginerring is worth it in some of them though. boxed lca's are sexy and buff .

my goal is to have something that i can control lift and keep it planted . im putting something together now that will accomplish this and will get me lower in the process.

just gotta find a deal on the shocks im targeting , those ****'s are $$$$$$
