Default tow/haul

Hey guys, when you click the tow haul button on the stick (03 tahoe) what does it do? does it increase line pressure?, lock the converter? I was told a couple things but id like to hear from some tranny gurus. thanks

When pulling a trailer you need power. SO.

It lets the converter stall up more and stay unlocked longer to put you closer to your power range.
Increases shift points so you don't shift and fall back out of range and have to shift again.
Increases shift pressure so the shifts are more solid and won't be slipping as much with all the extra weight of your trailer.

That's my understanding of it. If it does more someone while chime in.

Tow haul on hold gears longer,TCC lockup and release MPH is increased, line pressure is alittle higher for alittle firmer shifts and torque managment setting are different than when off on some trucks
Tow haul mode can be altered for towing in mind or all out race mode, whichever the customer prefers and or what they need.
Me personally,I never tow with my crewcab,it is not setup for towing so I use my tow haul mode as a all out race mode.
Now on our tahoe we use it to tow,so I use the tow haul mode for towing in that.

It will still shift into overdrive, but not until a higher speed.

Tow/Haul on my truck does all the things metioned above, and also lowers the WOT shift points.

The WOT 1-2 shift on my truck is set at 6000 regular, and 5000 with the tow/haul on.

Keeps you from getting it real hot on an incline I suppose.
