Default tow/haul mode not functioning at all...

went on a mountain cruise recently and wanted to use tow/haul to keep the tranny temps down...
button didn't work at all...light didn't even come on...
I was wondering if we could have accidentally disabled it while working on the idle tune...
if not...what should I look at?
possibly related...this week my 1-2 shift has become harsh at times...about half the time...and vac mod hose is in place...

If it's not in the tune, it may be a bad switch or broken wire in the steering column

There is a really thin wire in the gear selector that can break and cause the tow haul button to not work.

Pull the plastic off the column and slide the rubber back.

That's what she said........

Sorry I couldn't resist. I don't think it'd be in the tune Al. I blame Mableton Speed Shop personally.

I have seen three or four of these broken wires, its usually right inside the little rubber boot around the shifter or right below it where the wire breaks, its an easy fix. I am 99% sure that is your problem. I don't think you can disable tow/haul in your tune as far as ive seen.
