That's the trade-off for stickiness - faster tread wear. You won't get ultra-stickiness and longevity both in one tire. The Nittos were an option for me, I absolutely knew that they would handle better than the Kumhos, but driving the way I drive in the corners, I knew I would be replacing them right about now (@20,000 mi) or sooner. With the Kumhos, I've got another 20-25K left in them. They've been able to take everything I've been able to throw at them, and I'm happy with the purchase.

i had nt 404's on my old truck and wore one tire out within 2 months almost . good traction but in my case wore really bad after track use and street racing . i have kumho's on my new truck now and there awesome . i mean ive only had them for a little over a week but i gave them a good break in and the wear is unnoticable like the nittos were .

I don't know what defects you must have all gotten. But I purchased Centerline 20's and put Kumho Ecsta's on them (switching from the stock 16's and General Americraps). I used to sit and spin non stop with the americraps, and I would have to almost come to a stop when I turn otherwise the back end would kick out. Ever since I added the Kumho's I can floor it with my 5.3 and they barely chirp! I can take turns that I used to take at 15mph now at 45mph! Not only that but if you do some research on Tirerack.com you'll notice that all other comparable tires to the Kumho's didn't even get half the positive responses. And they all cost almost double the price!
Also on a side note....My wife bought a pair of Kumho Ecsta's for her bimmer and had the same results as me. Don't waste your money on the hype of the better known brands.
