Arrow Tq verter ?? Yes or no ----->

Ok so some of you know I been helping try to figure out the prob witha friends 05 BONE STOCK tahoe.. Ran it on efi live to log, no trans codes came up. No SES lights are on, this thing doesn't shift out of 2nd gear. It did a few times for me by doing it manually, but now doesn't.. If the TQ was done, would there be A SES LIGHT?? The dealer is telling them it is a tq verter. I think now after changing shifting solenoids, running it on a scan, it is electrical.. ANY INSITE WILL BE GREAT.

I know you said manually sometimes it goes in, have you commanded it into 3rd with EFI Live? When I lost 3rd and 4th it ended up being a grenaded forward sprag, but you've been driving it too long now to still have 1st and 2nd.

I do not have the tool to command it or maybe I do LOL. I only really have it for scans.. This is a bone stock truck with 70k on it, female driven.. Like I had said in a previous thread. The oil looked damn new, no debris in it at all..

It's not the converter. You have an internal problem, not applying the 3-4's.

I agree, if it were the torque converter you would have a problem in all gears...

Looks like the inevitable dropping of the trans. is in its future.

When you are hooked up to the truck connect to the trans. using EFILive scan tool go to the DVT tab and the ability to command gear selection is in there.
