Traction?!?!?!?!?!?
Ok...Here it is...Right now I have a stock 5.3 RCSB with a 3k Stall...I have serious traction issues...soon as my tax return shows, I am bolting on my sts kit in the garage...How do you boosted 2wd guys get traction on the street? I dont wanna have to go from a 60roll to take some girl for a ride...

I guess it might help this thread if I told what I have and what I am thinking of trying.
I currently have 2" drop hangers, and 275/60-16 Toyo's
What I am thinking is, Hotchkis TVS (I know the sway bars wont help traction to much). 18x9.5+ out back with 305/45-18 Nitto 555Rs and 18x8 With 255/50-18 up front. If I still have traction issues, Cal-Tracs.
Now
1. Do you think this will hook on the street?
2. Can Someone point me in the direction of some decently priced 18x9.5+ wheels that arent chrome?
3. Does anyone have any advice?

I think you'll be able to hook with that setup. The STS is going to have to spool up so it isn't going to be just a huge blast off of the line like nitrous would be so it might not be too bad.

You have to roll into the throttle to keep traction. If I don't brake stall and floor it I have traction for a very short time, that is until about 15 mph. Then I have to feather the gas for traction. It will depend on how much boost you are running as to how the traction will be. What is your rear gear ratio? I'm assuming you have a 4l60e. If so the 1-2 shift may cause the tires to break loose also. Again you will have to ley out some and then hit it once you regain traction.

4l60, 3.42, I cant get to the floor before about 20 or it just spins. if I bunch it, I am sideways immediatly...I loose traction at about 1/2 throttle right now and the turbo isnt on yet...

The Caltracs are a must. I would get at least a 31.5 tall tire and the wideist tire you're rims will alow the more sidewall the better. Traction is allways a problem with these 2wd trucks.

The ET Street radials are AWESOME! They work great, I did not believe they could be better than the original ET Streets, but I saw them in action personally and they work great.
