I don't know for sure yet. This ***** has drained my pockets...I have everything out of her, I should have time to investigate the t-case next week. The smurf fluid that's supposed to be blue...well it's all black. The 80e damage was from the rear. I am only left to assume the t-case died and some how pressed forward on the trans. Not related, but I had a bent flywheel as well. How about that?!?! The bearings on the front were worn on one side real heavy versus the other side.

These cases are still hell tough. I believe parish went with the t-case out of a 2500hd when he upgraded to the 80e. When I went to 6.0 and 80e I just changed the input shaft on my t-case.

Funny thing is a local drive Tran shop said there is nothing different with the 2500 t-case and a 1500 auto track,(besides the input shaft) I'm still not sure if it is true, but with how easy the 80e input shaft fits the so called 60e t-case make me wonder.
BTW you got any pics of the inside of your transfercase?

i might be sticking my foot in my mouth but isn't the 1500 tcase a 241 and the 2500's is a 261? What's the difference between those 2 #'s?

I'll get some photos soon.

Ooooh here is a really informative link. http://www.newventuregear.com/tcases.html

Check out the torque ratings on these f-er's. The 261 has a lower torque rating, but higher vehicle weight.

5555 lb ft of torque!!!!!!! I'd say that's tough eh?
