Default Tranny fluid question on 2003 Subarban

I have 143000 miles and never changed tranny fluid. What are my options at this point? I was going to just drain, change filter and refill. Any help w/b appreciated.

First off let me say welcome to the site!!! Chief its really up to you. Normally I would say you either service it regularly or leave it alone. In your case because it has never been done it might be best to leave it. Reason being is ATF is a detergent. By putting fresh atf in the system it will start to clean and loosen dirt in the clutch packs and whatnot. If you do service it I would say to service it again in a short time period like 5k or so and make sure to put a new filter in the unit. After that service the unit every 15-20k. BTW do you ever fish Bago or the wolf or the fox? I recently have started fishing Bago and we have had a couple of great trips up there!
