Default tranny gave out last night!!!!

Need some help guys! got on it a little bit last night and BOOM!! No reverse no forward gears and it makes the same grinding noise even in neutral! You think i might reuse my $1100 PI stall?

Sounds like you might have broke the pump or an output shaft. If you broke the pump the converter needs to go back and be repaired. Vince

I you have 402 RWHP your above the usual 450 CHP that built 4L60's are rated at. I'd try a 4L80 with a shift kit and firm tune.

Or if you have the Wallet big enough I've read on here how people got the 6L80 to work.

i broke 5 built 65e's in my radix'ed avalanche...the cure was a FLT level 5

Thanks man that FLT is what i've been looking at. Is it still pretty streetable like weekend cruising etc.?

Drop that FLT Lv5 in there and you will wonder why GM just doesn't build them like that to begin with!

FLT Lvl5 is a great unit, but make sure ur not planning on going for more ponies...It won't be much difference in cost to go to a built 4L80 - but really only if ur planning on going bigger.
