What kind of clutches did they use? I've had no issues with Red Eagles. If I remember correctly, FLT uses BW's HE clutches. I wouldn't go less than an L5 with vehicle weight and power. White1's gone over 3 years with that in a 6.0L-powered Z71... and beats the snot out of it.

Here's the verdict, 2 problems...
#1 Burned 3-4 clutch pack. And #2 this is the second time the input drum has broken around the collar of the input shaft. This one was a cryo treated drum. The local tranny shop thinks it may have cracked and caused low line pressure which burned up the 3-4 clutch pack before it broke...???
Could this cause the 3-4 pack to burnout while cruising down the interstate? I justwant to correct the problem before it is together again, FLT5 this time. I know this may fix it but is there something else in the tune to look for?

It sounds like a softer shift is a must.

This one mis-shift is my concern after first retune with the header install. It hit the revlimiter and refused to shift... The computer seemed to be hung up or a shift solenoid??? this was the 2-3 shift. Or it just may have slipped like there was no gear when it did shift into 3rd. It did this again when it broke this time... The 2-3 shift occurred at light throttle about 2500rpm and then free spun with no gears working...

Dude!! Congrats on one of the best purchases nobody will ever look at or hear. I feel for the transmission builders like Vince and Chuck who work so hard to create a fine piece of machinery only to have it shoved up under a truck to never be seen again.
