The kickdown cables in my old TH350's and 200R4 were pretty important in relation to shift points IIRC...I used to adjust the cable out to get them to shift later? I remember driving a car that we did a trans swap in and it had a broken TV/kickdown cable and it ran through the gears in like seconds.

700R4 should have a lockup converter if it's the stock, or stock style converter also...
