i put the converter on the tranny first then put the tranny in the truck...the converter has to fall into placeon the shaft and its kinda tricky cause you think its lined up but they you turn it just a smidge more and it falls all the way into place...

for clearance i have not a clue...all i know is that there was plenty of clearance..

I was in Texas for a Denali meet, was doing a WOT run and when it went into 3RD it bounced off the Rev limiter and that was all she wrote, was 1700 miles from home, but all worked out in the end.

well you want as little clearance as possible but not touching when you pull the converter up to the flexplate

there should have been 3 clicks for the t/c to fall into place

what i was saying tho was that if it is pulled back to far it wouldent be all the way on anymore lol

I was goin down the interstate one night goin out to eat. Had the cruise set on 70 and all of a sudden the the engine started revving then it was pegged at 6k+rpms before i relized something was wrong..

Come to find out the TC took the pump teeth out...
