Default Tranny question??

how do i find out what tranny i have its an 03 5.3 scsb with an auto tranny everyone seems to have the 4l60e but in my papers it says i have an 4l65e, anyone know how i can find out for sure without pulling the tranny?

There is a sticker on top of the trans...maybe with a mirror you could see it. It will have a 3 digit code. Also externally the 60e and 65e are the same. The internals are the only difference. There may be a 3 digit code in the glove box but you'll have to call the dealer to find out which one it is.

On the sticker it should say 3KZD if you have a 65. You can also look on the back of the case by the pan rail where the tail housing would bolt up. It's a little hard to read because they stamped these cases with a bunch of dot's. But the first four digits will read 3KZD as well if indeed you have a 65. Vince

"M30" code will be for the 4L60e. Check in your glove box but most than likely it will be the 4l60e, unless otherwise.
