Cool Tranny when boom tonight...

Was under moderate acceleration and shifted from 1-2 and bang..big bang n metal clank n clatter and no go no mo' ...right at christmas and closing on mortgage of newly built home sooooo funds are limited but i need tranny advise...Dunno anything about whats in it or what broke or anything besides all the reading i have done on here of everyones builds and breakdowns, etc. Does anyone know what a rebuild costs? i've pretty much decided since i got 154k miles (several thousand of which are 'drive it like u stole it miles' ) im ready for better/bigger tranny if cost to repair is what im thinking it will be on the ol' 4l60e... I know i wud prefer a 6l80 swap but im open to advise/suggestions on everything...

I also cant find a post someone had in refernce to 6.2 with 6l80e and all the harnesses etc from brand new truck wrecked with like 16 miles on it or something like that.. anyones help is accepted and appreciated guys

thats exactly what happened when my output shaft snapped, then grenaded and took out everything in the case. Nothing was useable. Planets were trashed, everything.

To hold me over, i bought an $800 reman from Ebay. it didnt last long though.

does it roll or did you have it towed or what?

Cant push it by hand in neutral .. pulled it in with step sons truck.. when revving motor in park or neutral trans whines..when in gear it clunks around internally like its turning and **** all broke up...doesnt move but oddly while in gear u can push it and it goes forward effortlessly but give it gas and nothing more than if you pushing

That font sound good at all. Maybe get you one from the junkyard to hold you over. Then look into a finish lines transmission. That's gonna be my next big mod.

If your budget is tight, get a good one from a boneyard with the converter to hold you over for awhile.
