Actually I think a couple times it got to about 220*s but that was pulling people out at WOT and going no where.

The tru-cool with a fan on it, ought to do the trick I think. Ive towed my bronco on a lowboy trailer in Houston stop and go traffic in the dead of summer with no problem.

The bigger allison coolers would be comparable to the tru-cool 40K so I wouldnt worry about them.

Ok, I got one coming, I guess I will wait and see if it does the trick. I plan on bypassing the rad and just running the new cooler and I am gonna get a fan too.

Any one mounted the 40 True cool somewhere other than behind the grille and added a fan? Just wondering if it would do just as well mounted under the truck, but with a fan forcing flow across it at all times. Real estate is getting tight behind the grille. Thought about mounting it behind the opening in the bumper as an option.

I have mine mounted flat behind the bumper opening, its fine on the road, but I get in the sand and it rockets up. I have the derale 28k with a fan on it like that. I think I am gonna put the new 40k above my intercooler behind the grille this time.

I live in an area where 110 degree days are pretty common. When I installed my s/c, I didnt want to sandwich them all together behind the grille. The new intercooler is too large to put in the lower valence, so I mounted an aftermarket b&M cooler in the lower valence. The tranny temps have been running 190's and I wasn't happy. So, I swapped out that cooler for a permacool cooler w/ a 2000CFM fan yesterday. After driving around in the 100 degree heat yesterday, the tranny temps stayed in the 170's. Time will tell if I like this setup.

250? Geeze man, your trans is going to be toast very quickly if you keep that up. I have the tru-cool 40k and highly recommend it. I have a stall and 35s and the highest ive seen it with 95 degree days is 165 driving around town in stop and go.

How do you guys by pass the radiator and just go straight to the cooler? I can think of a few ways, but none are very elegant, so I was wondering what yall did.
