What size tires you gonna be running?
Im on 30.6" tires with 3.42s. Turns 2050@70mph.
With the turbo, 80e and 2.73s that thing wouldnt ever stop pulling haha.
Give it a try with the 2.73s and go from there. Id vote 3.42s if your gonna go turbo in the future.

Seriously considering buying a performabuilt lvl2 trans with one of there converters. Thats a lot of money for me and I could get it about 500 cheaper from a popular builder here local but he only has a 1 year warranty and performabuilt has a 2 year. What do you guys think?

Well after changing my mind back and forth a few times I think I have made by mind up for a local builder here in town. Has a good rep and good prices and I talked to him and he really seems to know his stuff. Building my 60 for me installed and all for 2000 with a 1 year warranty. There are several guys around here that are running some really fast rides with a trans built buy him (including his own) and there holding up great and its nice to have someone local that I can look in the face. Anyway he said I can choose any stall speed I want. Like I said I plan to turbo in the future but don't have plans for a big cam or anything. I would like whatever will give me the most performance without killing my mpg. What do you guys suggest? Thanks

What stall speed to you guys think would be best? I know hwy mpg isn't going to change because of lock up but I do a lot of city driving also and don't want it to destroy my city mpg. The whole reason for me not going with a larger cam is because I want to keep my mpg up. So basically its going to be a stock internal 5.3 for a ls6 intake manifold, a turbo and a good tune. Like i said still has the 2.73 gears now but will be changing those to a 3.43-3.73 range somewhere when I put in my built rear. Thanking a 2800 or so stall? Did a lot of searching and found were a few people say that a 3000 hurt there in city bad and a few people say it didn't but what do you guys think about a 2800 would do? Any input appreciated. Thanks

It all depends on how hard you are on the gas pedal. If you go straight to 40% throttle all the time from stops then yea its gonna eat some gas. But if you baby it, your not gonna see a big change.
2800-3000 would be just fine.

Well been talking with a good local builder here and he is gonna build me a 60 with 2800 stall for about 2 grand. I think he really knows his stuff and he went over the parts list with me and its sounds like all the right stuff. He said with the build he is doing it should hold 750hp. I plan to put down about around the 600 mark when its all said and done. He warranties his work also so im praying it all turn out good. Gonna get a fbody pan put on it also while the tranny is out because the truck oil pan hangs below the cross member and after I do the 4/6 drop im afraid I would bust it on something. Hoping with the 2800 I can get the turbo spooled up for a good launch. I imagine with the 2800 I would need drag tires to get any good traction.
