trans overheating with 40k cooler?

I know your running a 3200 stall but i never could get mine with the stock converter to even get close to 190* pulling a heavy trailer thru the pasture in first gear pushig the converter to 2800 but barely moving. And the fans never come on high.

Id say you got a slipping issue.
Log engine rpms and torque converter slip speed mine throws a -2 thru +2 while towing on the clutch slip.

Well checked the converter lockup % and Its at 95% on cruise at 55mph.

yea when it was locked it was none or 1 or 2 rpm.

Ok good so you think the problem might be with the vacuum modulator giving the trans too much pressure?

What is pulling the air across the cooler? Electric fans, or mechanical fan?
