Trans problems, second gear takeoffs after a couple shifts
Guys I need ideas fast. My transmission starts out in second gear once it warms up a little bit. First gear when it does work, seems really labored to get the truck running. Truck shifts fine 2-4. if I put in 1st gear manually, and get on it, it moves but very labored like I am trying to pull an 18 wheeler behind me.
Mods are in my sig. What do you think it could be?

I doubt that a shift solenoid is the issue here because you should not have 4th gear if this was the case. If you installed a shift kit let me ask you if you replaced the plastic 1-2 accumulator piston with an aluminum one? I has been my experience that the plastic pistons break often. When you install a shift kit with heavier accumulator springs the factory piston just can't handle this. What happens when the piston breaks is line pressure is feed into the 2nd gear clutch circuit. This might explain your second gear start issue if this is the case. HTH Vince
