A stock or aftermarket plate works just fine. However when you go to put it back together do not use the steel check *****. Get some torlon holes and never replace a separator plate ever again.

That is some good info I didn't know they were available.

Vince B wins the challenge...cracked accumulator piston in three different spots. Thanks everyone for your inputs. Now I have to find one and hopefully get it overnighted. Enjoy the carnage.

Most transmission shops will have the aluminum ones in stock.

LOL @ the challenge. Thanks for the update. I posted a link here last week for an aluminum one I found on ebay. That is what you will need. Vince

I ordered both aluminum pistons Forward and 1-2 from Oregon performance, and paid for the overnight...which will take 5 days to get here...If I knew they would take that damn long to get to me, I would have went ebay and got them in 7 days. Shipping was $220 through FEDEX. I need them like yesterday and have to get my truck back up and running before the LQ9 gets here so parts cost $240 to get to me.

The price I pay for not upgrading during the shift kit install! lesson learned.

Thanks for all the replies.

Forward and accumulator pistons are installed. I seen quite a bit of metallic flake in the fluid. we will see how long it lasts. I also didnt install any washers. With one it was very brutal shifting. Without it, it will still bark the tires when it shifts @ WOT, just not as brutal.
