trans slips/shudders in D but not in R
this is my 2000 truck. brand new trans and converter, both stock. fluid is good and topped off.
truck will drive just fine in reverse but when you put it in (D) 3 2 1 it will slip/shudder as soon as you hit the gas and not move. has anyone had this problem before or know what what it could be.

Could the shifter indicator be a problem? gm's damn glue got the best of his a few years back and cracked the case on it... now you can try to adjust the location and nothing happens in the cluster... when in park it says nothing, in reverse it- say reverse, neutral says nothing, "drive" takes a few seconds to show its in the drive gear, then after that 3rd 2nd and 1st all say its in Reverse in the custer! WTF
Now could this be a problem point? Does the computer look at this?

just put all back to stock form, its weird never have had this happen before, lets say you put it into "drive" you release the brake and push the throttle to about 5-10 percent the truck starts to move like normal then as soon as it feels or reads 1 mph plus it shutters like it has a 3400 stall in it.... i would take it down the road if i could get it out of my driveway- its not right. It seemed like low fluid but its not it either... i re check location of trans lines, properly ran to cooler... thinking that maybe the issue but thats correct.
Only other thought could be transfer case speed sensors... we took that apart and we could have misplaced one in the right location... 2 had the same part number the other didnt match..
i was hoping it could be something as dumb as the shifter location brain on the side of the trans... but who wants to spend $$$ if its not even the problem..
