transfer case swap question
Does anyone have suggestions on my issue. We dont normally do swaps like this, so I need some help.
'07 Hummer H2, swaped the 4l60 for an 80 and went to a 243 transfer case. We have 2wd, but I need 4wd low and high too, even it I have to go to a different transfer case.
Any ideas?

I know only what i have learned from working on my Avalanche, the Avalanche uses the NP246 transfer case stock... I ran it behind a 4L80e with a 27 Spline shaft with no problems for two years. Granted my truck is only making about 450lbs at the rear wheels but, the 27 Spline shaft can take some serious abuse... Heck the transmission place said that the set up i had could take 1,000HP with the hardend 27 spline out put i had...

is who makes these transfer cases... You may try talking to them about your situation and see if they have any insight to some kind of control system to work with your application...
But for your problem you either need some kind of control system for the NP246 OR you may look at changing to a semi/fully manualy t-case...
The NP263 or 261 (can't remeber which) is a semi manual transfer case, you would have a Lever on the floor that actuates a selector on the transfer case to tell it what you want it to do... Similar to push button but, with a lever connected directly to the control on the transfer case... But, I don't know if it would still need additional information to work, such as current Transmission gear and or speed like the NP246...
Push button is nice but, comes with its own set of problems... if you want total badassness maybe even look at an Atlas T-Case, fully manual but some of the best on the market.
I hope this helps...
