Default Transgo 4l60E/4L65E-HD2 shift kit install?

Should I install everything that comes with the kit or just certain peices? I plan on only using 1 washer or maybe no washers on the accumalater for the shifts. I have read that some guys don't use the entire kit, but I am not sure what is best for a daily driver that pulls a boat once in awhile. Thanks for any advice.

well, for mine the entire kit was not used. i had a tranny shop do the install so i cannot say what was used and what wasn't, but i know i had some parts left over that they gave me back.

and if you have a stock stall, i'd go with 0 washers. i put in 1 washer because i was told higher stalling converters soften shifts, and mine shifts very firm. 1 washer on a stock stall might be too hard for a daily driver.

I was told that the servos along with this kit would make it shift really hard. Is this true?

I am not sure about that one. I installed both servos without a shift kit and it shifts just fine, however when I talked to FLT about my options they said they install the shift kit and servos in every tranny they sell.... Alot of people have both on this board so you might try finding some threads about the subject. My shift kit will be coming soon....

I'll search again for the answer. I just don't want my tranny to shift so hard that it is uncomfortable to drive. But I do want it to be stronger because I have a radix coming.

Call up FLT, they should be able to answer your questions and there prices are good.

I have a shift kit and Superior SUper Servos... but with my 3000 stall it does make them feel alot softer than a Stock TC...

So are you keeping the Stock converter?

I didn't plan on changing out the convertor. What benefits would a different one do for me?
