transgo shift kit install
are they hard at all to DIY? I've never done one on a 4l60e. I know they can be done with the transmission inside the vehicle (per transgo's site). I'm a gearhead and I do all the work on my truck with ease. I firmly believe that I can do it no problem, just haven't done one. How long did it take? any special tools needed?
its really not a bad deal for like 120 bux. I could really use one in my truck.
thanks,
jake

It's not that hard to install, just a little time consuming when installing one for the first time. One thing that you may want to get is a pair of small snap ring pliers for the boost valve and some tranny assembly lube for the check *****, I have teh instructions if you want to take a look at them before the install.
There were some set backs, they were the bost valve coming out after the install and forgetting a washer on the 4th servo.

sounds good. I think it'll really help liven up the transmission. even though I've upped the shift pressures and modified the shift times, I think it'll make it shift quite better than it is right now.
how long did it take from start to finish roughly? was it maybe a 2-3 hour job?
thanks,
jake

mine on my 4l80e took about 5 hours but there was a lot of bullshiting and drinking going on at the same time. You'll want to bring your shift pressure back to stock when your done or you will damage the tranny since the shift kit will up the pressure too.
