If they are built correctly and not over powered I believe they will work. Give us call when you have time. Vince

If I had the money, I'd get it. I didn't realize how expensive they were. I might just try and find a 4L80E and put a shift kit in it and pray for the best.

pray for the best? your 80e will more than withstand the power you are looking for, the advantage with the built 65 is the fact that it weighs less and doesnt eat as much horsepower. you will break the level 5 65e before you break the 80

Called FLT and talked to Vince yesterday for at least 20 min. Very friendly and upfront and answered all of my questions. He told me that a level 4 4L60E should hold my estimated 450rwhp/450rwtq. He told me a level 5 would be best. Since there is no way I could afford the level 5, I should be able to afford the level 4 by late sept./oct.
Also called Rock-On transmissions and talked to Amanda. I asked her some questions about their 4L60Es and she was very helpful. A few hours later, Dave called back and asked if their was anything he could help me with. I talked to him for about 10 minutes. He told me that their 4L60Es handle up to around 700hp. Very friendly place.
I've got about a month to decide on which place I want to order from. It's gonna be kinda hard to decide. Both places have almost the same price +/- $50, the same length warranty, and are both very cool guys. As of right now, I'm thinking FLT level 4 4L60-E.
