Default Transmission ?

Alright I installed my yank sst3200 this weekend along with a transgo hd 2 kit and I noticed that when im crusing at 35 I can hear somthing rattleing but as soon as it hits 37 or 38 it goes away. Do you think it is because it hasnt been tuned and it shifts to 4th gear at to low of an rpm? Any info would be great. Other then that the truck drives and sounds great. Also it dosnt do it below 35. Thanks

Check to make sure that your converter bolts are tight. Also if you had your exhaust loose make sure that its not touching anywhere.

Im sure my bolts are tight and have loctite on them, I checked them yesterday. Im pretty sure my exhaust is not touching anywhere. Could it be somthing I did wrong with the shift kit? I made sure to do everything exactly like the instructions said. Its kind of weird that it only does it from 35 to 37.

I doubt very seriously that it's related to the tune. Most likely it's not related to the shift kit install either.

I would take a long hard look at the converter mounting bolts. If there was any paint or powder coating on the converter pads then you can tighten it up all you want but it will have a tendency to move around and create noises intermittently. Also check all your crossmember, exhaust and anything else that you had loose during the job.

I'm gonna put it up on a lift tomorrow and run it up to 35 to see if I can hear where it's coming from. Thanks for all the advice guys.

I figured out my problem, I did like you guys said and went over everything I did to make sure it was tight and everything was. So I get on the phone with Dave at yank and tell him what's its doin and right off the bat he tells me that it's in my tune. He said its locking up way to early and the sound I'm hearing is the clutch rattling. So now I need to get a hold of Justin to fix my tune. Thanks for all the replies.

Awesome, so it is related to the Tune! Just goes to show ya that you should never say never like I did earlier regarding your issues!

Yea he said lockup was engaging way to early, it would engage in 4th at 34 and Dave said it needs to be around 45 to 48. I guess we all learn something new all the time.
