Default transmission making noise

so i just got done putting in a v8. I have my stock v6 converter in it, and now my transmission is making weird "knocking" noise. It does makes the noise in all gears, but it gets a little bit louder when I put it in drive and reverse. Any body have any ideas what it could be?

What year is your truck? I wonder if it's out of balance, like if your v8 is internally balanced and your v6 wasn't ..? Just a guess

I was thinking it could be the converter too, but I am going to check and see if the flexplate bolts that bolt into the converter are tight enough.. I will check the tranny fluid tomorrow and see if it is still red or not.

Alright so I looked at my fluid and it all looked perfectly fine. So I decided to pull my starter and check the bolts that bolt into the converter.. Well needless to say that they were pretty dang loose and causing the converter and flexplate to rattle. I torqued them down and now it stopped. So hopefully it stays that way.

Sherlock you've done it again... good deal. Glad to hear that you didn't have to go to the extreme.
