Default Transmission shifts

I just got my truck back from getting it tuned after the cam install before the tune i just had a programer with the stock torque managment wich they took out when i tested the truck out the shift from first to second was delayed they moved the redline to 6500 rpm cause the cam is a high rpm so when it shifts its somewhere above 6000 rpm then slowly drops down then i can feel second kick in. Shouldnt it be shifting hard with the torque managment off??? The truck only has 30k on it and i just put the cam in this weekend could my trans be slipping?

if it is a stock tranny it could be slipping, or maybe they forgot to take the tq mngmt out.

Removing TM will not make the trans shift firmer. You can do that with either a shift kit or increasing line pressure through your tune.

What TM WILL to is pull timing during the 1-2 shift so it feels like your truck falls on it's face for about 2 second then it will kick in. Without TM, you should feel not feel the "bog" during the shift. Also, putting a shift kit on a stock tune will make TM MUCH MORE NOTICABLE at least in my case it did.

change the 2-4 servo and the problem will go away! if you keep doing this you will burn up the band.

well sounds like i have take it easy on the truck and do some transwork I origanly planed to get a FLT trans later but i found this trans upgrade kit today that claims its capible of handling 600hp for 500 bucks how hard and how long does it take to rebuild one of these trans??? Ive seen a dvd you can rent with a step by step process but ive never been inside a trans before for anything so Im kinda scared to do this.

do the vette servo (it's cheap and easy) and just go easy on her till you can get a FLT 4 or 5. I'm the kind to go with what is proven, and Finish Line has proven themselves over and over.
