trimming down bump stops

I have heard some still bottoming out on a 4" drop with cut bump stops.

I have the DJM pancakes and bottom out. Extended cabs bottom out more than regular cabs will.

I completely removed the front bump stops and bottomed out a week ago. YIKES!! Sounded like I broke something. I might trim em down and put them back in.

Yes, leave the front stops in and trim them so they are just in contact with the lower control arm at ride height. They are part of the front ride control.

If you find you are banging too much on the rear with the stops trimmed, then consider slam air helper bags as mentioned above, if you do not want to do a c-notch.

I have the bottom out problem also. I would do a c-notch but I think my tires would hit my bed fender b/c of the offset of my wheels. I'm wondering if the slam air bags would be good enough. I have the pancake stops right now and only have maybe 1-1.5".
