Default troubleshoot my whistle

I have developed a whistling noise that sounds everytime I am applying the gas pedal. press the gas, whistle, let off the gas no whistle, etc. etc.

At first I thought it might be fuel system related but it just doesn't sound the same as my walbro fuel pump whine. Doesn't sound like rear end whine either. This is a definite whistle..............any thoughts......I'm thinking I might try and replace the carrier bearing. could this be tranny related?

how do you know it's not the rear end? mine started as a whistle. moved on to small vibration/whistle, and the rest is hsitory...new rear end. I actually thought mine was coming from the engine area maybe bellhousing. But then I had my dad drive and i sat in the rear seat, TOTALLY different sound and it was obvious that it was coming from the rear.

I've had several rear ends go out on me, and they all sounded like a whine, not whistle. If you where to whistle through your mouth, thats what this sounds like(is this what yours sounded like?)

my whine is typical. a gear whine. I have richmonds now and they definitely whine. the whistle did turn turn into a yucky whine later, but i am just saying it started as a whistle. like a mouth whistle.

several rear ends? YIKES? changed CIA lately? they whistle. did you ever grind off that edge in the tube? that changed the air tract...better or worse nevertheless could be noiser.

you need to radius the edge inside the j-tube that is used for the IAC on the older trucks (jtube is the same from 99-2007).....the edge is sharp and will cause a noticable whistle on the trucks, especially with a cold air intake such as yours.

This is a revision that was made after your system was manufactured. I can post up pics if needed.

You could try putting the truck in nutrual while it is whistling and see if the noise changes or goes away. Might help pin point if the noise is drivetrain or engine related......

Better yet, throw in a good Jethro Tull C/D and turn up the radio....

dont have any handy now, BUT:
http://magnacharger.com/pdf/manual-CadillacEscalade.pdf

check the pic next to step 90, that little "cut out" needs the sharp edge smoothed out.....you are good at J-Tube mods, this should be a piece of cake for you.
