I'm buying a tru cool 40,000 and wondered about the cold weather bypass. I'm planning on just replacing the factory cooler with this and just modifying the lines to make fit. It will still be going through the radiator. Do I need to get the one with the cold weather bypass? It will get as cold as -20's here in the winter.

i would get one with it if i were you because its not going to hurt to put it on with the cooler. i think the ones with the bypass are the same price but if not i got a brand new cold weather bypass that came with mine im never going to use and ill send to you for the shipping

I installed the bypass on mine. Without the bypass your transmission will take forever get up to temp in the winter time regardless of being ran through the radiator. The mounting of the bypass was somewhat of a pain.
