Default Tru Trac 342s or F-body Posi Unit with 342 gears

I am not an auto expert. I am getting an ly6 dropped in March but am looking at my rear end options. I am not sure what the F-body unit is but could any give me some insight on either? I have a 1999 extended cab silverado and dont tow anything, every once and a while a friends 18 foot boat. I mostly do freeway travel.

Tru Trac 342s or F-body Posi Unit with 342 gears

Thanks.

3.42 with trutrak is a nice combo. 3.73 if you want a little extra get-up since you are in there.

I like the 3.42s though.

I have a 4 banger that I can use when gas goes up but I am really leaning towards the 373 tru trac.

So far the best price I have found for the tru trac and 373 gears install is $1100. I am not sure if thats a decent price. Or am I not looking hard enough? I was quotes prices from $1100-$1350
