Default TRUCK RUNS!!! *Thanks Flyer* :) ... but I also have a question

Thanks to Flyer, who sold me a great tranny, I now have gotten my truck back on the road. Just returned from its maiden voyage. It wasn't the easiest thing getting that tranny in there in my garage, but I think it was worth it as I saved myself at LEAST $500, if not a lot more.

My question concerns the linkage/ shifter cable. With the shifter cable disconnected from the tranny, I can click the tranny into all the gears: starting in P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1.

The truck drives and shifts just fine in all gears... however, at a stop, for some reason, I can't shift manually into 1st?? I changed nothing on the shifter cable at all. Just undid it, and slid it into the new tranny, which is also a 4L60E.

Is there some adjustment that needs to be done? I know it's not the tranny, because underneath the truck, I can move the bracket by hand and it goes into 1st just fine.

Also, for the shifter cable. What side does it attach to the bracket? Facing the tranny, or away from the tranny? Currently, I have it facing the tranny, and this could possibly be my problem.

thanks,
Chris

If its the lever on the shifter at the tranny your talkin about, the ball stud should face the tranny. Did you remove the Park Neutral switch from the old one and install it on this one?

Yes, that is what I'm talking about. So ... the ball faces the tranny eh? Ok, that's how I have it.

Where is this switch located? The tranny that Flyer sent me came with most stuff... I'm not sure where this switch is located.

The P/N switch is the black swith on the drivers side of the tranny that slides over the shaft for the shifter.
