true trac or detroit locker?

I heard that a tru trac is not rebuildable like the eaton lsd or yukon duragrip thats why they are little cheaper

how often do you see them break though. i know of 2 clutched posi's that crapped out last weekend.

Very true my Auburn posi went out at SAR last Saturday... It did last almost 4 years though

Im thinking of either an Eaton LSD or tru trac. Probably leaning towards the tru trac.

That's not really true. There are no ware parts in them like clutches, only gears and gears last a very long time!

Gotcha, thanks. I dunno about what would be safer or not, but I do know in my old S-10 the one-tire fire was incredibly annoying in the rain as the truck was so light i couldn't hardly apply any gas without just sliding everywhere. The one tire-fire would induce a yaw and start the truck rotating when I really didn't want it to.

I like my trutrac a lot works great in any weather or condition. It really made my truck fun to slide around

in the rain, you are more likely to lose control with a posi than a peg leg. the 1 tire thats not on fire is the one that keeps you going straight for the most part. with a posi, both tires spin and the rear end does pretty much whatever it wants
