truetrac...plug-n-play?
have read that different bearings are needed...but haven't seen it mentioned in any of the threads here on pt.net...
btw...the correct model is the 913A481, correct?
Eaton's catalog even mentions specific bearings required...

when I had the gears installed I bought the install kit and my rear used a different pinion seal than the one provided in the kit...I ended up having to get one from the dealership...
the Eaton catalog states that part #913A481 is for 30 spline, 8.5/8.6" GM 10 bolt C-Clip 1989-06...then has the following noted:

For axles with small bearing bores (race O.D. of 2.89"), usually found on vehicles prior to 1999, bearing LM-102949 and race LM-102911 are required. For axles with large bearing bores (race O.D. of 3.06"), usually found on vehicles from 1999 to present, bearing LM-603049 and race LM-603012 are required.

all you'll most likely need is the true trac itself and new side bearings. use the bearing and race part numbers that you posted above that eaton states for the 1999+ trucks.
i say you'll "most likely" only need that stuff because if you reuse your stock shims, you should be able to keep the correct backlash, and not have a need for additional shims.

Hey- let us know how that true- trac performs. I have a nothing in my rear and am kicking around what to stuff back there. They say that True Tracs are wonderful in the front very livable. BTW, I've seen in the Summit catalog that says specific bearings are required- shouldn't be a big deal..................

i got my detroit trutrac and yukon master install kit for 510 shipped. it has all the bearings races, shims, ring bolts, crushsleeves etc etc etc that youll ever need to put the rear end together right. if you cant find it cheaper let me know and ill pm you where i got mine.
