Twisted axles splines 10 bolt
#11
What's the cost of one of those Ford 9" rear ends. Isn't it going to end up being over 3k?
I can get a junkyard 14 bolt with evertything on it and 3.73 or 4.10 gears for $1000-1200. I can sell my current rear end being worth at least $500 (trutrac and AAM 4.10 gears). And I can swap over my rear brakes or just run the 14 bolt drums, both of which would clear 15s.
At this point, it's all about cost to benefit ratio because I'm tired of dumping money into an old truck which is only worth about $4000 based on age and mileage. I just want a 10 second slip and be able to drive home.
Just out of curiosity, would the twisted axle be a reason I could never leave the line without spin after my first ever 1/4 mile pass on the drag radials? That first run it dead hooked 1.63 60' and since that point it could never hook up cleanly.

The cost of a 9 inch is dependent on the parts you put in it.
The ones I have built for my stuff in the past have been upwards of 3K.
Again it's all dependent on the parts you put in it and what you start with.
