U-joint
Anybody ever had trouble getting there new U-joints in there truck I have a 99 Z71 ecsb with the big aluminum drive shaft and it seems like the ears are bent outward so when the new u-joint is in its real stiff. I know this is bad so any ideas would be great

i made that mistake a couple years ago. they had to replace front and back u joints. cost me over $200. i'd rather try doing it myself. i think all you need is a big vice and sockets to push the bearrings out.

It has been a long time since I did a u-joint but sometimes a needle bearing would fall out of place and get in the end of the cap. This will jamb it up and make it hard to turn. If this can happen with yours then make sure it hasn't. I think the u-joint should be able to rotate freely once you have it pressed into place.
