Default V-max/ SSS rear end

Can anyone refresh my memory as to what years and models had the HD rear end that swaps directly into the 99-06 half tons? Also, was it the 2wd or 4wd models that came with these diffs?

I'm trying to hunt one down. Thanks!

pewterliftedz , can you confirm whether those applications are 6 or 8-bolt? I thought they were a hybrid HD rear that had 6-bolt axles. That would be ideal.

those are 6 bolt 9.5" rear ends.
They have 14 bolt covers.

Ok, that's what I thought. If I can find one, I think that it'll be better than upgrading a 10-bolt. Do you agree? Is there anything that needs beefed up on that 9.5"?
