Well I'm glad I searched before I made my own thread on this exact question. Driving home from work tonight that was all that was on my mind. I really would like to know how the Tru trac is worth the extra $$$$ over the one that is identical.

Now if the US 3.90's I received didn't whine between 40-50mph under light throttle after being setup properly and good patterns 3 seperate times. (probably just my luck by trying to be a cheap ***) Guess its time to break down and purchase a set of OEM gears.

This don't sound like a bad deal to replace my g80 with in my z. I hate that damn g80. I have a true trac which I love in my 99 but I can't find another one for the price I paid for that one.

3.73 and 4.10 gears are available in OEM stock; unfortunately the oddballs like 3.90 and 4.30 are available only from aftermarket manufacturers, and can be hit or miss depending on what differentials your truck has.

I love my US Gear 3.90s. I had US Gear 4.10s for 5 or 6 years before I finally broke some teeth off the ring gear.
I have had my Eaton posi for 8 years and it still works perfectly. I was worried about the clutches in it wearing out, but obviously that has not been an issue.
Sorry to get slightly off topic...
