Default vibration at 90-110+

I have searched, but nobody finishes their threads to tell what they had found to solve their pinion angle problem. I only noticed it at the track because I rarely take my truck past 80. story is, i have a 3-4 drop, shackle hanger rear, added cal-tracs and removed my overload to fit in the cal-tracs. truck still has a slight rake, but sets perfect imo. my beltech rear kit came with iirc a 2* shim. with the overload gone, i dropped about 1", so I was going to remove the shim which should put me back where I should be. i am going to measure it all friday, to see that my angles are. anyone ran into this before?
thanks

Are your tires balanced good? Take a look at the pinion and see which way it's pointing. You can get a magnetic angle finder from harbor freight for 5 bucks.

have you had your drive shaft high speed balanced?

on my excab i put a new carrier bearing and balanced my shaft and vibrations went away.

it didnt start till after the caltrac/overload stuff. tires I think are ok. I noticed the vibration right after i put the caltracs on,I was testing the stiffness around a 50mph corner at 95
I have one here at the shop. but i have to wait till friday, when I drive it up here to get on level ground to check it.

yeah it is balanced as high as the drive shaft shop could go.

Hmmm sounds like since you took the overload off the pinion is climbing up while accelerating. axle wrap... although caltracks are suppose to prevent that.

yeah, I think it sets at an upward angle, so pulling out the shims would bring it down to normal, or thats how my thinking is anyways.

How are your shims installed? The fat part should be towards the front of the engine and that will point your pinion down.

yes fat end towards the front, but it moves the pinon up or give you more positive pinon. fat side in the back negitive pinon, and it will point down.

put the overload back in, cut the leaf spring about 8"( iirc) from the rear forward, set the pinion angle correctly, that should sove your problem. sounds like your angle is in the plus which will cause you your vibration
