Default vibration after swap

i swap some gmc 17s for some gmc 20s and now i have some vibration at about 55+ i didn't have it when i had the 17s, i know the 20s tires need changing in which i ordered and should be in soon, but im taking a 6hr total ride interstate mainly and don't want to shake the whole way. I was told it could be that the tires need rebalancing. any other ideal besides that? i dont wanna spend cash on rebalancing and that still doesn't fix the wobble. thanks.

Since the wheel tire combo is the only thing that was changed, as long as all of the wheels are flush against the rotors and properly torqued, you probably just need a balance (unless you have a bent wheel or shifted belt in one of the tires). Since you're getting new tires anyway, it may behoove you to install the original meats back on (if you haven't already sold them) for your long trip so that you're not shaking your guts out all the way. Unless you want to spend dough twice to get the old tires balanced, then the new ones mounted and balanced.
