Vibration Problem..can someone help?
Hello,
I have a 2000 Silverado 1500. Lowered with 20" wheels, Nitto tires and 12-way QA1 adjustable shocks. For some reason the truck shakes pretty bad when at 45mph and 70mph. I have had the tires balanced 6 times even rotated the fronts to the back and vice versa and the problem still persists.
Any ideas as to what might be causing the problem?
Thanks!

Was a shim used to adjust driveline angle after the truck was lowered?

or it could be alignment.

It is lowered 2" in the front and 4" in the back. The kit is Hotchkis.
Thanks!

Drive line
I would be looking into the drive shaft/pinion angles. This seems to be huge problem. I'm not really familiar with the different kits however I have seen some pretty nasty pictures of a truck that kept breaking tail housings. It finally broke the drive shaft in two @120mph +. BUSTED trans, drive shaft, exhaust. damaged under carriage and one extremely soiled pair of shorts!!! High speeds and vibrations can kill you. Get it fixed this person was lucky!!!!

In troubleshooting the problem, when did the vibration come about? All of sudden? recently? before lowering? after lowering? right after? 1000 miles after? change your gears, goto 4.10's? hit a curb lately? places can balance a tire and rim,but what they fail to tell you is they put 3 ounces on one wheel to get it to balance.A 3 ounce weight WILL unbalance in a few miles. Like it or not. Still say drive angle. DOn't overspeed until you get it solved.
