Uhhhh, Thanks, I guess. lol
I towed my boat (around 5,000) with little problems with the 2800. It really depends on how much the converter slips durring lock-up....

A small converter (10" or less diameter) will produce a lot of heat, without towing. The reason for this is due to less fluid being in the transmission/converter. If you plan on towing with a 10" or smaller converter (typical stalls are 3000+), you seriously should look into an external reservoir (like B&M's TFCS system) to have extra fluid capacity to keep the trans temps down. The heat from the extra slippage will kill your transmission and overheat your converter. If you tow with a stall, you need to retune the TCC lock up so it will engage in 2nd and early, then never let go after wards. This can be accomplished in the tow/haul mode settings ... which will not affect your street driving, which the TCC can be set looser for max power. Realize that with a 3000lbs trailer load, a typical 3000 stall converter (10") may now become a 4000+ stall, due to the extra weight. Converters are rated for a specific weight, power output and gears. Working for B&M as their converter designer, this is how I setup some of their converters.
