Default Want to numb down my steering

I would like to put more weight into the steering wheel so I can get a little more feel. Any ideas on taking some of the power out of the steering?

Maybe some kind of restrictor fitting on one of the PS lines. Or a hyd. pressure regulator. You could also put a bigger pulley on it.

I have thought about these. But don't know about how to restricting the flow. Also I dont want to starve my pump.

The easiest solution would be a bigger pulley. Do you know of anyone that makes an over-sized power steering pulley?

No, but you might want to talk to grippy about the pulley situation. He seems to be the pulley guru around here.

If you ran a press. reg. then the un-used fluid that's bled off would just be routed back to the reservoir. That shouldn't starve the pump, but that setup sounds expenssive.

hey gold back in 2004 I had this guy make a hydroboost for my truck. Like what diesels run. The brakes work off of your steering pump, into of using the vacuum. If I remeber correctly it was like 500 bucks. I mean if you are gonna spend alot of dough to get a tighter/more restrictive steering might as well get something that is pretty useful as well. He doesn't list our trucks on his website, but email him. He'll build it and explain the install in detail.(if you need the explanation)

Long story short, it added resistance to mine. Added some noise , like the steering pump is struggling under low rpm. But it's fine. No issues with it yet. Sweet clean install.

Can't you just add a hydroboost setup from the HD's? Seems like I've heard of someone doing this.

I am sure you could, at the time I couldn't find one in a junk yard and didn't feel like trying to deal with used stuff for my brakes AND steering.

Word; that's not really something I'd want to get used either come to think of it.
