Foose, I think you're on the right track. FWIW, I've been running the V6 coils for quite some time now. I definitely felt a difference when combined with a cheap 90/10 shock. Nothing to get excited over though. While the 5.5" coils from Santhuff will probably work, they might not last very long with a lot of street miles.

I calculated the stock springs at 438lb/in based off of the dimensions. This seems to be pretty true given what the front end weighs and how much the spring is compressed at ride height.

The V6 coils I have are 5.75" OD measured with calipers compared to the stock V8 coils at 5.875" OD. So there is some wiggle room on the OD, but given the stock a-arm spring pocket design, it's the ID that'll screw you. I realized this when I went to stick my Moroso springs in there off of my Camaro.

The V6 coils have a thinner wire diameter so the ID was bigger (4.23"). Either way, the Santhuff springs should fit since they have a bigger ID yet. What I worry about it their longevity since they're such a light spring for a heavy front end. Santhuff makes good ****, but make sure they have a warranty on them in this application.

I've considered going this route, but I'm probably going to go with a coilover instead, since a double adj shock is the same price if it's a coilover or not. I don't think you could get a light enough spring in the front of an EC truck though. You RC guys will probably love this spring. Another thing to consider is two springs of higher rate stacked on top of each other. You'll easily get the length you need and they won't wear out as fast, while providing a much lower spring rate. Dirt track guys do this and I'm sure Santhuff could work something out.

At any rate, I predict that the 250lb/in springs will drop the front of the your truck ~1.5" vs the stock springs and ~.75" vs. the V6 springs.

Thanks for giving us some good information. As for ride height, I'd like a 1.5 or so drop. That drop on the front and bringing the rear down another inch should be pretty close to getting the ride even. I can tweak from there.

On my last time out I had an issue with wheel shake at the line, even though my pressure was the same. After some reading, I figured out it's the sidewalls giving out which seems to be a issue on heavy setups and trans-brake launches. Often the sides wall gives first before the rubber is at the wear line, even though mine are close to that as well.

Any case, new meat was in order. I've read some good review on the Radial Slicks. Couple reasons, heavy weight needs a firm side wall and second you get the soft rubber of a slick. I'm also going from a 29x10 tread to 30x10.5 tread. I've read over on YB picking up .1 ET and 1-2 MPH over a full bias ply is the norm. I'll report back on MPH as the tune won't change from last time out when I went 104 in the 8th. Also found out my return date is the 13th! Ready to start project 1.4's!

First thought, this are some big mo'fo tires!

Are you thinking of changing gears? Don't you have 3.73's. What are you crossing the traps at for RPM's? I would assume the taller tire might hurt your top end.

My log on the 10.52 run, I was at 6315 when I lifted. Yeah still on 3.73's.

Looking it up, it's more of a sidewall and rubber material change.
